Well finally it’s Christmas Eve. So as you race around shopping for those last minute items, don’t forget to stop and think about WHY you’re doing this.

This is the one time of the year for us to STOP, reflect, relax and be grateful for all of the blessings we’ve received throughout the year. The kind word, the unexpected smile,
the help when we were snowed under with work, the unsolicited compliment, the courtesy you were shown by someone in heavy traffic… all of these add up to multiple daily kindnesses that are often forgotten.

Maybe as we head towards the new year, instead of setting yourself a whole pile of unachievable resolutions for 2011, why not start a “Grateful List” and identify all of the things about yourself that you love and don’t want to change? Why not reflect on all of the things in your life that make your heart sing? Just a thought.

So, from me, I’m grateful to all of you for joining my database, for reading my newsletters, for sending me emails and feedback and for encouraging me to continue to write, speak out and advocate for the needs of dying and grieving people… and for the future needs of us all.

I’m grateful for your friendship and enthusiasm and for your willingness to spread the “deathtalker” message in your own communities.

Have a safe, happy and grateful Christmas season and I look forward to joining you all in 2011!
